Volunteers stripping the wire from electric blankets for recycling

Trading  standards held an amnesty on electric blankets over the  winter. 300 old blankets were traded in for  new ones to ensure the safety  of our senior citizens.

Untapped Resource supported  Trading Standards by  taking the old  blankets  and  stripping the wire from the blankets. The  wire was  recycled and the  remaining blankets were  donated to local cat and  dog homes for use as animal bedding. Not all the  blankets could be disassembled or were in a fit state for reuse and had to be disposed off, but 80% were. This stopped them from simply being sent to landfill.

Untapped Resource, supporting  Trading Standards and working in  harmony with the environment.
